Walk & Train
The Dog Classroom is pleased to be offering Walk & Train services to existing clients of The Dog Classroom.
This training option is great for the busy pet owner who wants to add enrichment to their dog's day, while getting ahead with training skills at the same time.
Walk & Train is ideal for busy people looking to get a start on the basics (verbal and hand signal cues, body handling, equipment conditioning, leash walking, recall and more) or for specific issues that you need a little extra support with (mild to moderate leash reactivity, desensitization for fear-related issues).
Even if your dog just needs a refresher course in some areas, we have a package for that!
How it Works
Contact Us to schedule your 20 minute Intake Meeting for Walk & Train today. Currently, this service is only available for dogs who have taken a class or private lesson with The Dog Classroom previously.
A trainer will meet with you to discuss your specific situation. Following the Intake Meeting, you can schedule a package of 5 or 15 sessions, depending on your needs. Dates will be scheduled at time of purchase.
On Walk & Train day, the trainer will pick up your dog to work on some of the skills you have indicated during the Intake. Following the 45 minute session, the trainer will return your dog home according to your instructions. The trainer will complete a Session Update Sheet and provide some homework instructions for you to work on.
We pledge never to use a shock or prong collar on your dog. Our training does not include the use of force, fear, or pain. We will treat your dog with kindness and respect.
The Fine Print
Dogs with severe aggression issues toward people or dogs are not suitable for Walk & Train. Please contact us to schedule a Behaviour Consultation if your dog has aggression issues.
Walk & Train packages are non-refundable.
We cannot ethically guarantee results. Every dog is different and some things may take more time for certain dogs. Owner commitment and consistency is also a big factor in whether the training is successful at home, which is why the Transfer Session is included when you renew your package.
